There is a remarcable tradition at Boris Pasternak Museum. Twice a year, on 10 February - on the poet's birthday, and on 30 May - on the day of his death - music and poetry concerts are held here. On these dates the museum is particularly overcrowded: old and new admirers of the poet, friends of the museum gather to recite poems and to listen to music. The atmosphere of the concerts is unbelievably informal and spiritual. It is joyful to see all these young faces and eyes. The consultats of the museum thoroughly prepare the programme of the concerts. Music sounds and there is nothing
more natural than that - in Pasternak"s house there has always been music. The poet and the members of his family deeply perceived and appreciated music, it was part and parcel of everyday life. And now the grand piano at Z.N.Pasternak's room serves to new musicians - participants of the concerts. Lyrics also sound - both by Pasternak and those devoted to him.
Again lyrics and music are heard, and the old house surrounded with forest silence overlooks clean snow or lilac bushes in blossom...
